I was a preschool teacher for 26 years and two years teaching first grade in the Chicago area. I just retired two weeks ago. I also taught in Mexico other grades for 11 years and for an agency of human services in Chicago for three years. I like to take care of infants, toddler and preschoolers. I believe that children need a schedule to structure their day and at the same time some flexibility. Children need physical activities, meals, hygiene, hands on activities such as manipulatives, art, sand, water, puzzles, etc. They also need music and reading at their age level.
