Hello! My name is Marilyn Morales and I am currently a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am going into my junior year of college as an elementary education major. I speak both Spanish and English, fluently, and am looking to become an ESL teacher in the near future. I worked as a Chicago Park District recreational leader for two years before receiving the Golden Apple scholarship award. This allowed me to travel to schools of need throughout Chicago and help summer schools provide a one-on-one help with students who struggled academically throughout the school year. I come from a big family that drastically varies in age groups and was fortunate enough to have gone to Jones College Prep in downtown Chicago for high school. This allowed me to be exposed to a wide range of cultures and ethnicities and because of this, I was inspired to Read more study abroad my sophomore year of college in Granada, Spain.
