I love kids, and grew up babysitting half the neighborhood. Taking care of people, especially children, is something I've always been driven to do. Playing games, arts and crafts, taking walks, helping with homework, reading a story before bed or making one up -- to connect with a child and help them learn something, or simply help them have a good day, is so rewarding. My past experience includes after school care of 2 to 3 children for about 5 years during high school and grade school. Then in college, I studied elementary education and interned as a teacher's aide. After that I became a mom and got to know the joy of raising my own child. Now that my little one isn't so little anymore, and has just graduated from high school, I'm eager to put my nurturing skills to good use taking care of children again. I also Read more want to be a helping hand to working parents, since I know how challenging that can be. I work during the week, but I'm available most weekends.
