Magda has been our nanny for 16 months. Overall she outperformed any expectations. Our youngest is ready to move on to daycare now to be with her peers; and it is with inevitability, gratitude, and a touch of reluctance that we transition. Magda had to navigate care for a premature baby girl and an 8-year-old boy. Her quiet, confident manner earned our trust quickly, while her consistency and growth have maintained it. Magda was outdoorsy with our daughter, taking her for walks with the dog, playing out in front, picking up groceries, and going to the park a lot. Magda also assisted with the morning routines of getting our son off to school and, when necessary, picking him up from school and accommodating after school activities, including his friends. Magda’s sense of our family, sense of humor, and sense of what we were going through were there in everything she did. During the holidays, I (Jason) had hip surgery and was on crutches and in the house for two months. Magda helped in every way she could, with assistance and conversation, and let me do what I could with my daughter, sometimes knowing my limits better than me. She’s a very good listener, and trusted us to come with issues or requests. Magda was by far our first choice from the candidate pool. In any relationship of this nature there are, of course, those undertones anxiety and anticipation, and Magda turned out to be an excellent combination of more-than-meets-the-eye and what-you-see-is-what-you-get. I could easily write a long list of what she did, but it suffices to say that she became part of our family; and if we had to do this all over again, Magda would be our first choice, no questions asked. The decision to hire Magda was, again, easy; so the decision to let Magda move on, though inevitable, was not made lightly and consequently hard to make. Magda’s influence, her singing, and her smile will always be welcome in our home. She will be missed.
