I'm 20 years old and a current college student, working towards my bachelors degree in Social Work. My goal is to work with foster kids one day. I've had experience with teaching/mentoring students before, I've been a volunteer religion teacher for middle-schoolers and a mentor for high school students. I've baby sat for neighbors before, ranging from ages 1-6. I've baby sat my nephews multiple times, oldest is 13, middle child is 5 and the youngest is 4. Although they are family, they are a huge handful and have special needs/allergies; it makes me feel more prepared to handle difficult situations if necessary. I'm very careful with every child to make sure they are safe and develop a bond to make them feel comfortable.
