I have been a child care provider for almost 8+ years now. I worked as a personal daycare assistant in a private home daycare from about 2009-12. I was in charge of newborn-toddlers that ranged from 8-10 children at a time. Some of my responsibilities were: ~Morning greeting of the children, helping to make the transition easier for both the children & the parents. ~Feedings, solid foods & bottle feedings. ~Reading, playing, & teaching age appropriate books, games & stimulation activities. ~Taking walks outside & trips to the park. ~Putting children down for naps, as well as waking them up. ~Participating in age appropriate music classes & stimulation activities. ~Age appropriate potty training. ~Cleaning & organizing toys & room. *First Aid & CPR certifications. I also attended several hours of child care development classes & workshops. I decided to leave the daycare in 2012 to pursue a career as full Read more time Nanny. My first job as a nanny began in August of 2012. I worked full time caring for a 5 month old girl. I was employed for a little over a year. My reason for leaving was because the family had decided to move out of town & the commute would have been too much. I took a job with a second family the following month. I worked full time caring for a 3 month old girl. I bonded very quickly with this new. After only a year the family had to move to Texas for work. I was asked to join them to continue caring for the child who was then a toddler. After careful consideration I decided moving to Texas just was not for me. Here are some of the responsibilities I had while Nannying: ~Waking up the child in the mornings & placing them to sleep for naps & bed time. ~Diaper changes. ~Feedings. Both bottle & solid foods. ~Reading, playing, & teaching age appropriate books, games & stimulation activities. ~Taking walks & going on small field trips to museums, music classes & the park. ~Keeping parents notified through out the day with text/pictures updates on the child's progress that day. ~Spending the night when needed. ~Cleaning up after the child, washing laundry, & helping to keep things organized & neat for both children as well as parents.
