Hi! I'm Kellie. I grew up in the south burbs of Chicago. I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign starting in '97. I majored in elementary end with a concentration in psychology. I graduated with honors in 2002 and flew off to CA to begin my career! I taught K for two years and 3rd for three years. (Thank you to Franklin-McKinley and Mt. Diablo Unified Districts for that cherished experience!). When I had my first child in 2007, I began to stay at home. I have three children now, ages 7, 5, and 2. (Thank you to Anne Marie, Will, and Geoff for these indescribably treasured experiences!). I think intertwining my career with raising children in the home setting is my element. I homeschooled my kids two years ago for about a half a year because I believed their intellectual needs were not being met. Once I Read more helped them get back on their level, I sent them into another school system. It was a wonderful experience, and we still do a lot of the things we did then. We volunteer at food pantries and do crafts with the kids at our apartment complex. I need a job to make ends meet, and I think my kids could use a new friend to consider family, and I think providing care in a home setting is my calling... Let us babysit for you! I believe in surrounding kids with language -reading, singing, reading, narrating their actions to them and trying to get conversations going, and reading. I believe in routines being a part of what makes a home the safety net that it is. I believe in getting out and participating in the community (storytimes, park dates, making cards for seniors). We'd be an extra home for someone.
