Hi! I am a 27-year-old college graduate from Evanston, Illinois. I love working with children and have years of experience. I currently work part time at the Old Town School of Folk Music and volunteer twice weekly with the youth program at a local refugee resettlement organization. At the refugee youth program I tutor kids K-12 in English and other subjects and organize games and activities. I love the time I spend with kids and I am looking forward to making new relationships with families and doing some part-time babysitting! My love for working with children started at the age of 14 when I held a job as a camp counselor for 3-4 year-olds. I have since been the occasional babysitter for different families whenever I’m at home in Chicago. Last year I was the go-to babysitter for a family with four children (9, 6, and twin 3-year-olds)-- We had Read more lots of fun together but schedules changed! I’m passionate about the arts and cultural exchange and am proficient in French. I am able to playfully amuse infants or help tutor preteens. I am easy to get along with and can adapt to new situations/families/cultures/countries/households/etc with ease. I’m lucky to have been able to combine my love for working with children with my love for traveling too! I’ve volunteered with children in Fiji and Senegal and was a live-in Au Pair/ English tutor for a 10-year old boy in the South of France. It may sound cliché but I can honestly say that throughout all of my travels, children have always been the icebreakers—the ones who have taught me new words or customs and made me feel at ease in a new atmosphere. There is just really something special about them!   I look forward to the possibility of meeting you and your little one(s)!
