Hi! My name is Catherine and I am a Senior Theatre major at Northwestern University specializing in Theatre for Young Audiences. Because of my varied schedule throughout the week I am looking to help you out as an occasional babysitter. I have been babysitting children ranging from infant to Jr. High for about seven years now. My Senior year in High School I taught a Sunday school class to 4-5 year olds for an entire year for about an hour each week. Last summer I was nanny to three girls ranging from 9-12 years old. That same year I held a job as a teaching assistant at Roycemore School in Evanston. They have an after school program for Pre-K through 5th grade. I was in charge of watching the 3-5 year olds after school during this program with the help of the teacher. We drew, played games, played outside as Read more well as many other activities for about 2 or 3 hours after school. I typically babysit children ranging in ages infant to about eight years old but love watching older kids as well. When watching kids for a only a few hours every so often, I tend not to interrupt the routine that the children and parents already have in place. In the summer however, I love to do things outside as well as take advantage of the many craft ideas that are all over Pinterest and the internet. Being a theatre major, I love highlighting the creative minds of children because it can be such a powerful and useful tool especially as they begin to grow up. Occasionaly watching a movie or television is great, but there is so much to experience in this world that I feel very strongly that kids should get up, go out and experience it!
