Since I was about 13 years old I have periodically worked as a baby sitter. I have watched infants to teens. Additionally I am a certified USATF official and work with young children to seniors. Each summer I officiate throwing events where I work with children six years old and up. In just the javelin event I could have a many as 30 to 35 children in various age groups. I have to go through the rules and show them how to properly throw. I have to maintain control of the area and keep them focused for their safety and everyone else's. Throughout the last 14 years I have watched my girlfriend two children. It has always been important to me when I watched them that we do something not just watch TV. We could go to the park, outside to play, play a game inside or go somewhere. I Read more have taken them to the Shed Aquarium, the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, Little Red School House, picnics at a forest preserve, Lake Catherine, the movies and out to dinner. My number one rule is listen and if they don't than we go home. Their safety is number one to me and if they can not behave and listen than we can not go out and have fun. I enjoy watching children. I had planned on becoming a teacher but life's circumstances did not allow for me to complete my degree. So officiating track and field and occasionally babysitting have been a way to continue interacting with children. Thank you for the opportunity to watch your child or children.
