I have experience with children of all ages, backgrounds, abilities etc. I work very well with children with disabilities. I have a younger brother with Autism, and one of the children I currently care for full-time also has Autism. I have a good understanding of what these children deal with on a daily basis, and how I can help with their general behavioural, learning and social developmental progress. I have been caring for children since I was in my early teens, starting out with basic babysitting for friends and family and then eventually moving on to full-time Au Pair/Nanny work. I am currently a live-in Au Pair for a family of 3 children, but I have a lot of free time so I would love to find some casual babysitting jobs. The agency I obtained my Au Pair visa through is called Au Pair in America, located in Stamford CT. Read more I'm a very creative, involved babysitter. I won't just sit back and let the kids run a muck. I like to encourage the children to participate in many different fun activities together (depending on their age/ability) like arts, crafts, reading, cooking, board games, role-play games and more. Of course I know older kids/teens are a little different and usually prefer to do their own thing, but I'll make every effort to show an interest in what they're doing. I can help with homework, chores, errands, driving to activities, organising play-dates/visits/appointments and more. I'm also happy to help with pets - feeding, walking etc. A few basics about me - I'm Australian. I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Elementary Teaching) here in the US, prior to this I studied a Bachelor of Business Management. I will be in the US until November 2015. Before I began studying and Au Pairing, I worked for an international summer camp recruitment agency (hiring, background checks, visas etc. for summer camp counsellors), and I had a second job in events at one of the largest arenas in the world. Both very fun jobs!!! I love travel, music, learning new things, cooking, camping, skiing, arts/crafts, writing, studying, world history/cultures and more. I'm really enjoying being in America right now, and it's my goal to visit all 50 states while I'm here (30 down, 20 more to go!) So hopefully having some extra babysitting jobs will help fund my adventures. :) I'm a safe and experienced driver. I have many references available on request. I have background checks and medical check too.
