I am 46 years old and have dedicated my life in working in the business world for the past 25+ years. But my true passion has been to help those who can benefit from my enthusiastic, kind spirited personality to provide assistance with daily chores and become a true companion on uplifting someone who needs care. I have experience with babysitting from the age of 13, to a nanny when I was in college and to be a caretaker for my 96 year old grandmother who was bedridden due to a fractured hip. My most profound caretaking experience for 6 years was when I also took care of my mother who had kidney cancer. On a daily basis, I assisted my mother with preparing healthy meals (Macrobiotic diet), driving her to dialysis three times a week. What I most enjoyed was the quality time we spent together doing the things Read more she loved, watching black and white movies, making puzzles, watching her favorite game shows like Prize is Right and Jeopardy, taking her out for walks, reading to her and just being there for her on her off days from being drained from dialysis. After her passing six years ago, I went back to the business world, but deep down I knew my true calling has been in caretaking as I was reminded with taking care of my grandmother. I am currently looking for a caretaker position. Last week was my last day as a nanny for two wonderful children of the ages, five years old (boy) and his little sister a year and a half. I am grateful for the opportunity that my good friend offered to watch her children for a year as they made an impact in my life as I also made beautiful impact in their lives. I have postponed taking a CPR basic course at the College of Lake County. I feel that this fall I can take the course as well as a course in Caregiving. I was raised by two very loving and giving parents. My father taught me to be dedicated and put my heart into everything I do in life. My mother taught me patience, to enjoy the special moments, to be courageous, and to give everyone my full attention to get to know their special gifts. I have five brothers and one sister who I am grateful for. They have instilled in me my love for Rock and classical music. I love to be around nature, enjoy a nice bike ride, drive to the country side and I enjoy traveling. I have been to Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Japan and Peru. My goal in life has been to meet as many people as I can and to make a difference in someone's life as well as in the world.
