Hi! My name is Samantha, I am a 21-year-old, Senior, Special Education Major. I currently attend Illinois University. I have 3 years experience with multiple families, but one family was consistent through those years. That family consisted of 3 boys, the youngest having Down Syndrome. My experience with this family inspired my major change from Finance to Special Education. I currently am working as an Individual Care Provider for a 21-year-old woman who has an intellectual disability. Duties for this job include dressing, meal prep, toiler 'stuff', etc. Also, I have two younger siblings that are 12 and 10 years younger than me, so I have been helping out with kids for a very long time. I would like to think I am a very energetic, active, attentive, understanding, reliable, and patient person. I would be happy to provide references to you from previous families upon request.
