I have taken care of a family of four kids from the ages of 8 to 11. I cared for them last summer 3 days a week and 7 hours a day. I also have 2 nieces and 2 nephews that I have cared for. Along with that, I have over 2 dozen younger cousins that I have interacted with and cared for over the years. I believe some of the most important qualities to have while caring for children is understanding, patience, and firmness. It is vital to have these characteristics because a child should feel loved and cared for while also knowing that the adult is responsible and in charge.
