I have been working with children professionally for eleven years, but unofficially for my entire life.  I have seven siblings, five of which are younger and have helped my parents raise some of them from when I was young until I moved out to go to college.  My wide variety of experiences have helped me become the person I am today and be comfortable with any childcare possibility. The first job I ever had was in a day care at which my mother worked.  At first I took the job simply because I wanted a little bit of income as a 16-year old.  I quickly fell in love with the childcare occupation and have never left.  I have worked at four day cares covering my nine years of preschool/before-and-after school experience, prior to starting my current position as a nanny -- where I've worked for almost two years.  While most Read more of my time was spent with 2-3 year old children, I have worked with children of all ages from infancy to adolescence.   Outside of my work, I have also had many babysitting and volunteer experiences.  These have varied from normal babysitting gigs for a few hours here and there to jobs in which I have watched multiple children 24 hours a day for a few days at a time to volunteering at summer camps with adolescents.
