Hello! My name is Lindsey and I am going to tell you a little but about myself and why I am looking for sitter opportunities. I am 27 years old and live in Skokie, IL where I have lived all my life. In 2009 I graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Marketing and currently work in full time in this career field. Prior to this position, I spent 8 years working as a swim instructor, life guard and counselor at a camp and community center. This is where my experience working with children really developed. The pool can be a scary place for children and it was my role to make them feel safe and secure in this setting while still teaching a lesson. My swim classes ranged in age from 3 years old up to 15, so I have experience working with a wide age group Read more as well as multiple children at a time. I also took several training courses on first aid and CPR. I eventually left the position only because I was starting my new career and wanted to focus my attention there. My boss at my previous place of employment has a 4 1/2 year old daughter whom I interact with on a daily basis due to our working from a home office. Over the past 3 years when needed, I have filled in for the nanny and helped take her daughter to daily activities, sat with her on the couch and watched movies and made soup when sick, and even dog sat over the holidays. This has allowed me to keep my babysitting skills sharp. My cousins within the last year have also had a baby, whom I babysit on a regular basis so I have no issue with dirty diapers or crying babies. On a personal level, I am a big ball of energy. I love to engage those around me and really make the most out of every situation. I have a passion for travel, music, sports and cooking and aspire to one day maybe open my own business. I am an avid sports fan as well. I spent most of my childhood and teenage life playing a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and my favorite, softball. At this moment in time I have several goals set for myself and in order to achieve those, some additional income is needed which is why I decided to apply my skills and sign up for this site.   If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask!
