I am seeking a local, full time position and I currently reside in Waukegan. My education includes Interior Design and an MBA, concentration management. However, my true love is working with children. I have a great deal of experience with children of all ages as I have been employed professionally in several child care and teaching positions at two YMCA's and a Montessori school, plus after school art and science classes. Not to mention having raised two fine children to adulthood and being a very proud grandmother to my one year old granddaughter. Currently, I enjoy teaching art part time, designing interior design projects for clients, teaching horseback riding and training horses. The best thing about all that is when I work with the children! I also love doing things with children such as healthy cooking, outdoor activities, museums, reading and educational activities such as museums, the Botanic Gardens and Read more of course, the park - I'm the biggest kid there! I have a fun-loving, patient nature, and children are usually laughing when with me. I find creative, gentle ways to teach and guide children so that discipline is more of a positive teaching experience as I believe in positive reinforcement that ultimately builds respect and self-confidence in children. I am also getting re-certified for CPR and first aid - my last training was 2011. In addition, I was head of housekeeping and administrative assistant to the director of an historic house museum, so keeping things tidy is no problem! Teaching any subject to children is my first love, and caring for them, making them feel safe and loved, is my main objective - coupled with connecting well with their parents so we are all on the same page. I know I can bring a wealth of experience and love to a very special family!
