About 11 years ago I took a babysitting and safety certification class at a local hospital, and have been watching kids ever since. In that time I have had the opportunity to work with many wonderful individuals, from infants, to toddlers, to twins and their younger siblings, to three boys all under the age of 8! I've also worked with grade school-aged and junior high-aged children as well as youth and adults with special needs. I've prepared meals, assisted with reading lessons, helped with potty training, changed diapers, administered bathtime and bedtime procedures, performed housekeeping duties, kept general order and discipline and much more. Outside of freelance babysitting, I have been a camp counselor at a camp for children and adults with special needs, assisting them with going to the bathroom, bathing, eating, and bedtime rituals. I taught Sunday School classes to a (very silly) group of fifth grade girls Read more for two years, and most recently completed a performing contract with Disney Cruise Line, exercising crowd control tactics and facilitating happy interactions with children and parents at busy character meet and greets and dance parties. I love sharing in whatever passions each individual child may have - be it sports, the arts, science, or anything else. I am a people person - I love interacting with and forming positive, happy relationships with children and adults alike. I truly care about the kids I watch, the families I work for, and the homes I work in. I take the time to understand how each child works and tailor my discipline and way of interacting to them. I have a hard word ethic that has served me well in the workplace. I am fun, organized, respectful, friendly, and I'll always leave a place cleaner than I found it. A little about me: I'm a college-educated 20-something from the Chicago suburbs interested in singing, acting, dancing, the arts, outdoor activities and athletic pursuits. A few things I love: reading and writing, art projects, cooking, drawing & design, yoga, skiing, biking, hiking, swimming, reading, pets and animals, exploring the outdoors, and learning new things!
