I have been doing home day care for twenty three years. When my children were young, I started watching other children and felt the need to create a warm and nurturing environment similar to an extension of their homes. I teach the children their basics of colors, shapes, letters and numbers, and I prepare them for the academic and social-emotional needs of preschool and/or kindergarten. I plan my lessons so that they will incorporate a wide variety of learning experiences. We work on developing fine and gross motor skills, using hands on activities such as painting, coloring, building, and puzzles. These activities also help the children develop problem-solving skills. The children enjoy story time, music play, dressing up, building with blocks, play kitchen, play tools, dolls, Legos, arts and crafts etc . Weather permitting we do outside play too. We have many celebrations for all of the holidays (traditional and Read more multicultural). The variety of activities is enjoyable for children of many ages. If a child has an allergy, I will work closely with the parents and child to create a healthy and safe environment for them. I pride myself in being a loving and caring provider, putting the needs and interests of the children as if they were my own. I am a very big believer of a family friendly environment.
