I have always loved working with children and started babysitting at the age of fifteen. During my first babysitting job, I was babysitting a 6 year old and newborn from 5 am to 2 pm. This was from August 2012 to December 2013. During my second babysitting job, I babysat on Saturdays from 12pm-5pm. The children were 7 years old, four years old, and 11 months old. This was from October 2014 to July 2016. During both jobs, I was given responsibility of both preparing meals and doing laundry. In between both set babysitting jobs, I was given multiple opportunities working with children in the Crawfordsville Community School Corporation and the greater Lafayette area schools. The grades in schools I have worked with range from preschool (age 3 or 4) to second grade (age 7+). I have been CPR certified twice and am now certified in Suicide Prevention through Purdue Read more University. I currently babysit when needed by the community as well as when my schedule allows. I am currently a student at Purdue University in Elementary Education and ELL. I am bilingual and have a passion working with ELL students. The reason I decided to become a teacher is because I hope to impact the lives of children, as I think they are the key to a great, bright future. I love babysitting and caring for children because it gives me experience working and interacting with children, which happens to be my greatest passion.
