When I graduated high school in 2011 I knew that I wanted to help others for a living. While pursuing a degree in healthcare I accumulated four valuable years of hands-on experience; two years in-home healthcare and two years in a clinical setting. Doing for others what they cannot do alone is rewarding, but tiresome. I always found that my favorite way to help someone was by teaching them how to help themselves. Thus, I am now pursuing a degree in education! I am comfortable with all age groups, but would eventually like to teach middle-high school aged kids. While I am only one semester into a formal teaching degree, I feel that my experience in caring for the elderly has given me a ton of valuable skills to pass along. Formally speaking I have done some service learning at a local childcare center. I also have an AHA certification in CPR / first aid.
