Hello! I graduated from Butler University May 2013, where I studied Arts Administration Music. I grew up in Libertyville, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago. I have quite a bit of experience caring for children! Throughout middle school and high school I babysat for two families in my neighborhood one family with four kids (three girls and a boy from 1yr-9yrs old) and the other family of two kids (a boy and a girl 3 and 7yrs old) I also ran the nursery at my church every Sunday for toddlers. I would sometimes be watching as many at 7 children at a time. While at Butler I worked after school child care at the International School, an elementary school near Butler. I was mostly in charge of kinder and first grade but I sometimes kids ages 3 to 9 years old. Most recently I babysat for a family with two daughters; Read more a three year old and a three month old, and another family with three children ages 4, 7, and 10. I was mostly watching the four year old while the others were at school. We'd take outings to the children's museum and around the neighborhood. I prefer to stay active, not sitting around watching TV, I like to be outside if the weather is nice. I enjoy bike riding, doing crafts, playing games, and playing sports. I prefer positive reinforcement, and try to avoid saying 'no' excessively but rather support good behavior.

Susan has cared for our infant girl, Eleanor, for 4-8 hours at a time several times. I was working from home during most of the time and so was able to see and hear how it was going. Susan was very intuitive with Eleanor, very observant of the baby's behavior and good at reading Eleanor's signals. As a result, the baby was calm and happy in her care. She also asked good questions about things she noticed and how I would like them handled. Susan was also very helpful around the house, both with things I specifically asked for and with taking initiative to spot new ways to be helpful. I would definitely hire Susan again for the challenging job of infant care!
