I am 28 years old, and I live in Sellersburg with my husband and three small pets (dog and two cats). I have been working with children my entire life as I had helped with cousins as a child, been a babysitter as a teenager, became a private nanny as an early adult, and then went into the preschool/early education field where I have been ever since. In the evenings I have been tutoring a boy that was in my PreK class as he moved from Kindergarten to First Grade, helping him with reading and writing skills. I am a certified child care professional with First Aid/ CPR certification; I went to Florida Institute of Technology for my Child Development Associate certificate, and I have been attending Ivy Tech Community College for my AS in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching in professional settings for the past eight years: Read more 2 to 6-year-olds at a private Christian school for three years in Florida, 2 to 6-year-olds (plus occasionally infants, toddlers and school aged children) at a private Christian preschool for three years in Indiana, and infants-toddlers-2 to 5-year-olds at a child care center for six months in Indiana. I have also provided private in-home childcare for families. I am looking for a part-time or full-time job and preferably something Monday to Friday around 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the hour ranges to work between. I have a dog and two cats at home, so I am comfortable being around pets and I work great with multiple children. I have created my own curriculum for infants and I am working on the toddler curriculum now; my goal is to make an entire hands on individualized progressive Montessori curriculum. I love the Montessori style of learning and growth, and how you follow the child and how you help their interests to grow in multiple subjects. I have created lessons and activities for my niece and nephew based on their interests and helped them develop. I love playing with children and seeing their excitement as they engage in new experiences and see how beautiful the world can be.
