l have worked with children for 30+ years. It is a passion of mine. I love the wonder and enthusiam that they approach the world with. Playing with them and helping them learn new things are equally enjoyable. Getting these both to happen at once is my daily goal. I started out as a mother's helper and that evolved into babysitting. After years of babysitting, I worked in two daycare centers (working up from assistant to head teacher). All of this led to my great love of working with children, and led me to become a teacher. I have worked with kids of all ages, from newborns all the way up to teenagers. I have a Master's degree in Special Education and taught in public schools for 6 years. I had to leave teaching because my dad got sick so I needed to stay home with him. When my father Read more passed away and my son got to be school aged, I wanted to return to the wonderful world of children in a professional capacity. I subbed and babysat again. Eventually, I found a wonderful family to Nanny with. I have been with them for 4 years. Recently, the mom has decided to stay home so I am only occasionally needed for date nights and such. So, I'm looking for another great family to be a part of. If I become your nanny, I will love your kids and be a supportive addition to your clan. Besides playing with, caring for, and enjoying your kids, I will help with household duties as needed to make things run smoothly. As a nanny, I see myself as a honorary household member so I will conduct myself in that manner. I will prepare meals and provide transportation as needed throughout the day, assist with small errands, and clean up after myself/do light household duties so you won't come home to a mess. I have great references to share upon request.
