I have been a babysitter for family friends when I was a teenager, looking after younger children after school or on parent date nights. Now, I am a college student studying Special Education. I have gained a lot of experience working with children with special needs over the past three years of my education. I would like to use this experience and knowledge to both help out a parent, as well as gain more experience for myself. I currently spend four hours a week tutoring students (age 9-11) with multiple disabilities and specific learning disabilities, as well as three hours a week assisting in an autism unit (age 5-8). While this is not a paid experience, it certainly is a learning experience. I love working with children with special needs. They are so dear to my heart and I have always known that I was meant to be a special Read more education teacher. I would not only like to look after a child and keep them out of harm, but also help the child progress. Being a current special education student, I have learned so many fun activities that are also good for the child. I would love to have sensory activities, as well as other fun crafts that the child can do and be proud of. In addition, I am also a former piano and violin teacher. I have seen the ways that music can impact a child and I would love to bring these skills and aspects into the life of a child with special needs. Feel free to text or call me at (606) 275-0517!
