Hi! Thanks for visiting my profile! I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and have used my education to serve children and families in Texas, Ohio, and North Carolina. I have recently relocated to Colorado to enjoy all the fun the state has to offer. During my time in Texas I was trained as an ABA intervention specialist working with children who were diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. Here I learned to manage behaviors, prepare meals, administer medications, and potty train. While in Texas I also worked in an emergency teen shelter for 2 years where it was my responsibility to provide them with daily activities, meals, supervision, and medication management. What I enjoyed most about working with teens was the opportunity to help them overcome barriers they faced and guiding them in reaching their own conclusions. Additionally, I have training as a mental health professional serving children aged 3-18 years old. This experience has contributed to my ability to guide kids through the emotions they feel, and better understand themselves and their world around them. In this role I worked with parents to better understand how to create goals for their family, and strengthen their family unit. Last year I served as a first grade teacher for the 2021-2022 school year in Charlotte, North Carolina. Here I learned to help children achieve their educational goals, positively manage behaviors, and provided individualized instruction for each student based on their needs. I have served as an over-night caregiver to 5 children aged 2-8 years old, summer/day-time caregiver to 4 children 5-8years old, and occasional sitter to pre-teens and teens. As a caregiver I strive to create a safe environment for all and have fun. Some of my strengths include my empathetic nature, organization and time management skills, patient demeanor, and ability to work as a team. Aside from my work my hobbies include: crafting, cooking and baking, watching movies, and reading. When it’s warm out you can find me outside with my husband and our pups.
