I was a head start teacher for five years which allowed me to make lesson plans based on student learning. Also to make those lessons more effective in keeping them on their learning path. In doing so I had to monitor 15 children when toileting, napping, and feeding. I engaged in hands on activities and created fun activities to get them excited about learning. Some of those summer years and during my college years I was a summer counselor for the boys and girls club as well as the YMCA. This allowed me to be a role model for older kids and create summer activities. This past year I was a substitute teacher in which I had to monitor students while following the rules and regulations of the Rapides parish school system.
