My name is Alison, I'm a senior at LSU. I've always loved children and I plan to work with them more after I graduate. I have 6 semesters experience in early childhood education, and I'm currently in a dual certification program for elementary education and special education. I still plan to get certified in early childhood education though. I've worked in multiple childcare settings including afternoon teaching at a preschool, camp counselor for 3- and 4-year-olds, intern in a special education pre-k class and an intern in a 1st grade class, and various ages in two different day cares. I also volunteer with children who struggle with reading and special needs children who are doing horse therapy. I believe if following a constructivist approach when it comes to teaching; this means that I believe that hands on exploration of the world is the best way for children to learn.
