I became a caregiver because I grew up babysitting my younger sister who was born when I was 12 years old. By taking care of my sister, I realized how much I enjoy to be around and take care of children. This realization has influenced my past job choices. I believe I am good at taking care of children because of my previous work experience. In 2009, I was a summer camp counselor at Ivanov's Gymnastics Academy for ages 4-12. I volunteered at John Calvin Presbyterian School Summer camp throughout high school from 2009-2013. Here, I took care of 2-7 year olds. In 2011 and 2012, I earned a CPR certification to become a lifeguard at Lakeside Country Club and New Orleans Country Club. Also from 2011 to 2013, I babysat my cousin with Aspergers from ages 4-7. In the summer of 2013 and 2014, I worked at Elmwood Gymnastics Read more and was a summer camp counselor for children who were 4-13 years old. I am currently studying Communication Disorders at Louisiana State University. I plan to become a Speech Pathologist to preferably work with children with speech disorders.
