I have lots of varied experience with children of all ages. I was a regular nanny for a one year old and her newborn sister for about a year. I also had temporary custody of my eight year old nephew for 6 months. I have worked in a day care, for about a year, caring for more than 5 babies, each under a year old. Another year, I worked at an after school program with kids between 6th-8th grade helping them with homework and doing activities until their parents came to pick them up. Lastly I worked as a summer camp counselor with a large group of 4th graders. I have also occasionally watched my friends children and infants. I encourage kids to get their noses out of the TV and put down their tablets, to play creatively. For example, when I watched my friend's son, (age 4) who has Read more a serious electronics addiction, I brought over a large box from a recent appliance purchase. We cut out windows and a door. Another time we went outside with some chalk and drew a large custom racetrack on his driveway to race his RC cars on.
