Hello families! My name is Lauren and I am here in New Orleans for Graduate School at Tulane University's Public Health school. My focus is Maternal and Child Health. I genuinely love taking care of children. All of my previous work experience involves children, for example, I was a camp counselor for 2 years at a day camp with 4-5 year old boys. I have also worked at the Virginia Tech Child Development for Learning and Research caring for children between he ages of 15 months and 5 years old. This school was centered around the Reggio Emilia way of learning, which is the act of facilitating a child's learning based on what they are interested in and not a set curriculum. I enjoy being outdoors and exploring nature as well as unstructured play in a home. I have a car for transportation and I enjoy cooking as well. I Read more am CPR and First Aid certified from my camp counselor position and I have recently joined the New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps so I will be receiving more specialized training if that is of concern.
