I'll be honest, I haven't babysat in about six years (I've been busy with college and other jobs), and almost forgot it was a job option. I'm 26 now, and my only standing commitment is a single college class (starting on September 2nd, I will only be occupied until 3pm on tuesdays and thursdays). I'm eager to have a change of pace from serving hundreds of strangers daily (as a cashier at Cumberland Farms), to a few kids (way more entertaining than adults!) that I've developed a relationship with, and actually care about. I'd feel more useful helping/working on a family level, rather than being an interchangeable minion to some corporation! I'm using dramatic words, but I really do feel this way. As my title says, I am the oldest of 5 kids (we all fit into 6.5 years!!!), and know the drill of getting ready for the school bus, Read more (and picking up_____ from _____ practice at ___ o'clock on _____days....etc.). I'm extremely organized and punctual, and am willing to go to any lengths (even play pokemon or magic cards, if necessary), to make kids feel like they are being paid fair attention to. I really do believe that childcare is one of the, if not the most important job. My experience with "special needs" comes from having been a PCA (personal care attendant), and from working at a gym for clients with disabilities.
