I am a certified Fine Art and Computer Art Teacher, from a Newsweek top 100 high school on Long Island, NY. I recently moved to MA, and will be teaching in upstate NY as of this Fall. I have raised 2 children (1 boy and 1 girl); they have gone to college and my nest has emptied! I am a very energetic 40-something, with too much time on my hands during the summer- we can both benefit from this. I would love spending time with younger children over the summer on a part time or occasional basis. I have experience with highly gifted children- I was the coordinator for young Mensa members in the greater New York area. I have a BFA in Design from Pratt Institute, an MA in Interactive Design, and an MSED in Art Education. I am in Becket, and am willing to travel up to about Read more 20 miles. While I may enjoy drawing with your child, and occasionally bring supplies, I will not give your children formal art lessons. Kristine cared for our two-year-old son a few days a week over the summer. She is simply fantastic. She is kind, energetic, creative, and completely reliable. My son absolutely adored her. They would spend most of the day outside--visiting the bumblebee they had named "Bob," picking blackberries, looking for frogs, running around and playing ball in the grass. When they weren't doing that they were making art, or reading, or making up silly stories. There was never a thought of plopping the kid in front of the t,v. Kristine is a natural teacher very and clearly loves children. Very easy to work with. We really lucked out in finding her--I cannot recommend her highly enough. --Martha L.
