To me, there is nothing in the world more rewarding than working with kids. I have spent two summers as a counselor at Camp Sewataro, first as a "General" dedicating all my time to one set group of kids (boys going into 3rd grade), and now running the drama activity for all boy and girl campers from 2nd to 8th grade. I also have a few years' experience tutoring 9th grade English, as well as 5th grade math, in Boston/Dorchester. I currently have a part time job as a Group Leader for Quincy After School Child Care. I recently transferred from Emerson College to UMass Boston in the fall to study English and get my secondary education degree. My universally positive experiences working with youths of all types and backgrounds led to my decision to change career paths: nothing can beat helping to shape the development of young people in Read more the best ways possible. I work especially well with boys of elementary/middle school age, but am great with kids of just about any age or gender. I take the motto "with over watch" to heart: keeping your kids safe is just the expected foundation of my job. On top of safety, I am always "on" playing with, entertaining, helping, and/or educating kids when I'm working with them. I never sit idly by.
