I enjoy working with children in one-on-one and small group environments where play and learning can be integrated, and helping children to develop their creative and communication skills. I have been working with children in some capacity for about ten years, from babysitting for friends and neighbors to working as a nanny for a family with three small children. I volunteered for the Children's Special Olympics for several years and have taught literacy intensive summer school for first graders. I have cared for children as young as ten months old to twelve year olds. I enjoy households with multiple children, having worked with several siblings at a time and also a combined household of up to four children. I am looking for steady childcare work, ideally a near or full-time nannying job, or a combination of regular part-time positions. I graduated from Boston College with a degree in English last spring, and am now establishing residency in Massachusetts while I study for the GRE. In my spare time I practice yoga and read. I consider myself to be calm and patient, nurturing and sensitive to the varying needs of different households.
