Meet Sophie

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colgate University with a B.A. in Psychology in 2014. I am currently working as the Head of Campus Outreach for a financial start-up called Seeking Alpha where I am in charge of our campus outreach initiative. I grew up in Westchester County, NY and am the older sister to a brother and sister who are twins and are now freshmen at Columbia University. I have always greatly enjoyed caring for children. Starting at age 10, I began doing so as a mother's helper for families in my neighborhood. As I got older, I babysat for many different families - families who have adopted children from China, families with infants, families with toddlers and elementary school students, and families with budding teenagers. Given the diversity of the types of families I have babysat for in the past, I am comfortable babysitting children of any age. Read more My love of babysitting prompted my decision to augment my knowledge on children. I took two courses on child psychology in high school and college: Child Psychology and Child Development. In my free time, I enjoy going on long runs, exploring the city, and finding new restaurants to try. In fact, I recently started a blog called The Nooks NYC where I share my favorite small, quaint restaurants. Other than that, I love spending time with my family and friends. My love of spending time with people is one of the many reasons I enjoy babysitting so much.
