Hi! My name is Rachel Posner. I am a mental health counselor and an expressive therapist. I am also a kid enthusiast! In the summer of 2008, I began working with children in a variety of capacities at two daycare settings as an infant/toddler teacher and as a toddler gymnastics instructor at the Little Gym. When I moved to Boston to pursue a dual master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Therapy, I continued to work with kids first as a nanny for a toddler and later as a teacher at Mama and Me, a small business offering a variety of art/movement classes for children and their parents. Additionally, as a mental health counselor, I have gained valuable experience working with school-aged children in a therapeutic capacity, providing support to children impacted by trauma/life adversity and struggling to manage a variety of emotional/behavioral conditions. Since 2012, I have switched Read more gears, working primarily with adults at a day treatment center. This has been a truly meaningful experience and I have learned a great deal. Now on the verge of my professional licensure, I have spent time reflecting on my career goals and am hoping to develop a schedule that meets my dual professional interests and utilizes all of my skills. My current plan is to return to childcare work part-time, as this is work I greatly value and enjoy, while continuing to develop my professional counseling goals.
