I have recently returned from several years working in China's children's welfare system and am now in Boston as a graduate student. My previous job was primarily management of a home for children, however I also had extensive interaction with children ranging from toddlers to older teens, focusing on providing opportunities for children with developmental delays and therapy for children who experienced trauma. Prior to this, while in college I coordinated an after-school program for elementary schoolers living near the poverty line in Pittsburgh. I also spent a summer working as a caregiver for a five-year-old girl, using a bilingual play structure to help her pick up basic Mandarin vocabulary. I've worked with children for over ten years in total. I am certified in first aid and teaching English to young learners, and have studied social treatment for Reactive Attachment Disorder, childhood trauma, language disorders, and more.
