To tell you a little bit about my experience, I graduated from University of Vermont with a degree in Human Service Management. I have 7 years experience involved in Healthcare and Rehab and over 4 years experience involved in childcare. The children I have primarily worked with have been in the age range of infant to 4 years old; however my care experience has included all the way up to assisting teenagers up to 14 years old. In both of my infant cases I cared for one infant from newborn to 1 year old and the other child I had started with when he was just turning 2 until 4 years of age. I was in the lives of these children for a significant time in their growth and development process, which I am honored to have been a part of; they are both growing up to very adorable and Read more well behaved children; both families being great references for me! My childcare role with the children from 6-13 years old has mainly been getting them ready for school in the mornings, pick up and drop off at school, bringing to after school sports, homework help, and dinner meal prep. My favorite part of childcare is being a positive role model, representing good moral values, nutrition, manners, and assisting in appropriate cognitive learning development for their age range. I believe being an active role in these areas of a child's life can help them not only in these crucial developmental years but also carry out to who they are in their futures. I also feel open daily communication is important with a child's parents regarding how the child's day went and any highs and lows they may have had. Depending on the age range it varies but some things I enjoy doing are coming up with fun and creative activities inside and outside such as visiting the parks, crafts, picnics, water parks/swimming,sledding, skating, helping out at day-care camps, developmental learning activities (math, writing, shapes, colors) biking, play dates, building creations in the sand, making play-dough from scratch, baking, visiting kid-friendly museums, practicing sports, etc. As a care provider there are two main things I do want to express that I need in finding the right fit. I am a very respectful person to all and ask to be talked to in the same respectful manner. Childcare is a full-time job in itself, while I'm happy to help with light clean-up on the children's behalf I am not at all comfortable with being a house cleaner. Please feel free to contact me! Sincerely, Chrissie W 617-513-0615
