**NOTE** I am currently only accepting short-term commitment jobs due to my academic schedule. I am not your average babysitter! You will discover right away that my passion is children, and that I love interacting with them. I am currently getting my degree in Psychology with a focus on child and youth development and look forward to one day being a therapist for children and their families so that our future generations have the best start possible. I am highly sensitive to the emotional and physical needs of children so that they feel safe and better able to communicate. I always try to involve fun and stimulating activities (bedtime permitting), and only resort to TV as a special treat. Some of my most popular activities are baking, rainbow loom, drawing and painting, and when we can get outside, swimming, the park, and gardening. I have heard that the kids get Read more excited when they learn I will be sitting them. I have experience with all kinds of special needs from glaucoma to sensory sensitivities to special diets. I always do whatever light housework needs to be done (washing dishes, cleaning up toys, cooking healthy meals that the kids like), and encourage the children to help when they can. I will change poopy diapers just as readily as I will play out bizarre stories about Barbie and G.I. Joe’s latest adventures. Before returning full time to school, I was a competitive swim coach for children aged 7 to 18, and worked primarily with the 7-10 age group – and loved it! During that time, I was involved in coaching children with disabilities and Paralympic hopefuls. I have also taught swim lessons for children as young as 6 months during summers for the last 5 years, teaching parents and toddlers the basics of water safety and aqua mobility.
