I have extensive experience working with babies, children, pre-teens and teenagers. Professionally, I have been a babysitter for 3 families, children ranged from 3-6. During high school, I volunteered at the day care center at my high school, Medford High School working with babies and toddlers. I have also been a Pre-School Substitute teacher at the Cambridge YMCA working with toddlers aged 4-7, as well as co-leading a college course to incoming freshmen. My most recent experience was working as an after-school Community Educator, getting promoted to Program Coordinator, at a pilot middle school in an under-served neighborhood. I helped students with homework then lead & supervised students (10-15 students at a time) during enrichment activities like sports, arts/crafts, reading, music, etc. The program was based on therapeutic enrichment for students with socio-emotional behaviors, so I interacted with them through stress-relief activities like yoga, breathing exercises and mindful coloring. A Read more majority of students I worked with had ADD/ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, Tourette’s, etc., so I am comfortable with children that have behavioral issues or need other accommodations. Since 2008, I have been an active volunteer and member of a local traveling basketball team that mentors youth; I have chaperoned trips to the White Mountains as well as keeping a data log for administration work for the team. Personally, I have tons of experience with babies and kids because I grew up the oldest of my siblings and cousins, so I learned how to care for them at an early age! I love being creative and I love making snacks/baking/cooking. I do light cleaning (sweeping/dusting) as well as laundry and washing dishes or loading the dishwasher. I enjoy being at the park, swimming and going to museums! Going outside in general, whether it is to play around with a ball or reading outside, it's nice to get some fresh air. I do enjoy painting and arts and crafts too. Big fan of Harry Potter!! Also have a labrador/beagle mix dog!
