Hello there, :-) Some experiences tucked under my belt: -I was a part-time Nanny working for a wonderful family where I looked after two kiddos ( 6 and 10 ) for 8 months. - Was a Caregiver for the elderly for 1 year. Here I cared for disabled individuals and received a certificate in Palliative care (Hospice). I learned a lot from this kind of work, and would like to take these experiences and care for children. - I've volunteered at a homeless shelter for 9 months when I was 18 years old (after a week of training, passing tests and receiving a certificate). I looked after groups of children of all ages, lead arts & crafts group, read books to the little ones, made tasty snacks, took kids to the park, and created care plans. - Worked as a Direct Care Residential Consular for high risk/troubled adolescence between the Read more ages of 12 and 18 years of age for 6 months. Here I focused on the growth of the individual and organized activities inside and outside of the home. Skills: • Screen, evaluate and train high risk youth • Perform housekeeping duties and handle walk-in crisis situations • Ensure safe environment for residents • Control behavior and discipline youths • Escort youths to the needed activities • Educate youths on health and hygiene issues • Assist youths with daily-living activities * I'm very experienced with looking after kids and coming up with activities, meals, and performing other daily activities. * CPR certified * First-Aid certification * Was enrolled in a University studying Fine-Arts/Psychology. I'm familiar with coming up with care-plans, doing some light housekeeping, running errands, I'm very comfortable with pets, and having a watchful eye over whom I'm caring for, organizing activities, and acting appropriately in any and all situations. I have my own means of transportation with a clean driving record, and I do not smoke.
