I went to various summer camps throughout my childhood, some sleep-away, some just day camps, and some educational. After I outgrew my camp days I knew I wanted to keep going, so I decided to become a CIT at one of the day-camps I grew up going to. That was the summer of 2011. The following summer I started as a Teen Instructor at Wild Earth, a wilderness day-camp. I worked there the last four summers and loved every second of it. Playing in the woods, making fires, swimming in streams, and going on hikes with the 7-10 year old kids made my job so enjoyable. Also throughout high school I babysat a few times a month for one of my teachers, and a neighbor of mine. My teacher has an 8 year old daughter, and my neighbor has three children, a 4 year old daughter, and two sons, 9 Read more and 11 years old. Things I did with/for them was cooking dinner, playing outside, played board games, colored, helped with homework, and countless other activities. This summer I have the opportunity to live on Martha's Vineyard with one of my great friends, who actually worked at the wilderness camp with me for the four summers. I thought about what I would like to do while there, I considered working at a clothing store or a restaurant, and I decided that I could not go a summer without working with kids. For that reason I am looking to be a nanny or babysitter this summer! Don't hesitate to ask me any questions about my past experience with kids or anything!
