I am currently in my sophomore year of college at University of Massachusetts Boston majoring in biology. I am on the pre-med track, planning on going into neonatology, also known as working with premature/sick babies in the NICU. I shadowed a doctor at Brigham and Women’s and absolutely loved it. I definitely think working with young children is my passion. I have a ton of babysitting experience. My family consists of several babies/toddlers that I often watch. My 3 year old cousin is a ball of energy and a lot to handle, so I can definitely handle high energy children. I have another cousin who was born premature and is currently two and delayed in her cognitive skills so I also have experience in children at a slower pace, whom I can help. My cousin, who is now thirty, has cerebral palsy and as a result cannot walk or talk. My whole family has helped him his whole life, so I am very familiar with disabilities. Four years ago I started tutoring and babysitting an 8 year old who is now 12 and I have watched her ever since, picking her up from school and watching her until 6 p.m. three days a week. She is too old for a babysitter now, however I remain in contact with her and her family because they have become my second family. I also babysit for a family with a two year old girl and a 5 month old boy. I have watched them both since they were born, however I do not take money from the family for they are close friends. I am looking to make some extra money while doing what I love, and I hope to find this here. Thank you!
