What's more important for a child than play? Over the course of my experience, I've worked with children professionally and as a volunteer, and play has always been an active part of that experience. Play teaches children how to think creatively. It broadens their imaginations and gives them the opportunity to be more empathetic with others. As a babysitter, I enjoy spending time learning their favorite games, movies, and books. I usually like to bring an activity or incorporate some kind of play. I worked for several years as a swim instructor and coach, with children as young as 6 months to couching high school programs. Now, as a young professional in the tech industry, I volunteer at the Horizons for the Homeless PlaySpot.

Chai enjoys children and overcame my daughter's separation anxiety masterfully. She sent updates unprompted and got a hug from my daughter as she left. We look forward to having Chai come back!

Unfortunately Aurelia did not like Chai the moment she opened the door. The sitting was a torture also for us, as we use sitters during our teaching hours on Sundays (we teach Argentine Tango). It seemed like Chai was doing everything right but the baby just hated her presence. We have about 40 students in the class and she can be in anyone's arms but not Chai's. Not sure why. The vibe? The personality? She was screaming her lungs off. I made the baby sleep and left her with Chai watching. Barely few minutes later she is up screeming again. My husband made her watch her favorite Snow White movie, she is 5 months old so of course she doesn't understand the story but she reacts to the music. You know that moment when the Queen turns herself into old scary women? The baby doesn't like this moment. Anybody who works with kids know that you need to do something. Either skip the scene, focus baby attention on something else or help her go through it by being with her. No. None of this happened. Screaming again. Instead of focusing on our students we've spent time running to the office to calm down the screams. I understand you need to let baby sitter find her way. We had no problems with other 3 girls we are using on Chime. But this was exceptionally bad experience. The baby spent most of the time on my or my husband's arms then with the baby sitter. I guess it's all about vibe. I'm giving one star cause I'm exhausted and also because we could potentially loose students because of unprofessionalism of this situation. Imagine - you are coming to take your Sunday class and you end up watching your instructor running around with the baby plus all the soundtrack... You cannot become the cook if you are not into cooking. You shall not be a baby sitter if you are not into Kids.

Chai was wonderful, my children woke up the next morning asking where she was and when she was coming back! She even took our dog out :) We will be booking her again, for sure!
