My experience includes, 3 years on the counseling staff at Brown Ledge Camp for Girls (overnight camp). As co-head of the arts department, I specialize in crafts, arts and theatre production. My duties included 24/7 supervision of school children ages 8-16. As a camp counselor my primary function is to aid campers in developing open communication skills, leadership skills and confidence by providing an enriched environment that allows the girls to set their own goals and hone in on personal skills that they find meaningful and stimulating. (ask me about specifics via email or in an interview) Other duties included overseeing canoeing/ hiking overnight trips, equestrian and animal care, survival skills training , water sports and gymnastics. In addition, I volunteer as a guest instructor for the Boy Scouts of America on various hiking and skills trips centered around trust and public speaking, culture studies and animal behaviour. Now as Read more a fourth year in college, I work in the University housing and Residential life office as a student employee. I oversee the Housing and Res-life student staff and mentor them while they search for off campus jobs and co-ops. My responsibilities include resume building, interpersonal skills building and customer service training. In my free time I enjoy reading and drawing, I am currently illustrating two children's books, and preparing for my final year at university. After graduation I hope to become certified in art therapy and enroll in a masters program at the University of Washington for school psychology.
