I babysat in high school on and off. The summer before I started college, I started working as a camp counselor in my home town. The program also runs a before-and-after-school program, so whenever I am home from college on breaks, I work at the extended day and summer camp programs. The progam is offered to students ages 6-13, so I have experience with a wide range of ages. Activities in the extended day and camp program included snack time, homework time, story time, recess/gym games, arts and crafts, board games, non-gym group games, talent shows, field trips & on-site shows, etc. Responsibilities as a counselor and group leader included planning and running activities, supervising campers to ensure a safe environment, handling conflicts and misbehaviors in an appropriate manner, and creating a fun environment for all campers. CPR/AED certified and First Aid trained.
