Hi! My name is Elise, and I am a recent graduate of Tufts University. I have been babysitting since I was in 8th grade, and I have experience with all ages--ranging from babies to preteens! My junior year of college I babysat for an 16 month old child in the afternoons. I was responsible for waking her up from her nap, snack time, and dinner time. On a few occasions, I babysat her at night, and we went through the bedtime routine. I also babysat an 17-month-old child during high school. Normally, I babysat this child in the evening, and we did dinner and bedtime routines together. Throughout high school, I also babysat a 2-year-old child (until she was 6 years old). I came over to play with her for a few hours in the afternoon. Eventually, I started staying into the evening hours, feeding her dinner, and putting her Read more to bed. On these occasions, I also spent time with her 13-year-old brother, making sure he abided by his bedtime, while giving him necessary space, as he felt he was too old to be "babysat." Outside of babysitting, I was a child development and psychology major at Tufts University. In addition to the babysitting experience I have had, I have worked at a summer camp with second graders, and this past year, I have been working as a special education Teaching Assistant in a middle school. I have had diverse experience working with children. During my junior year of college, I volunteered at the Tufts Educational Day Care Center and was paired with a 3-year-old in the youngest class, and acted as his "special friend" for two hours per week, playing with him, and participating in classroom activities with him. During my junior year, I was also a Peer Health Exchange heath educator. I taught health education to high school freshmen in the Boston Public Schools. During my Sophomore year of college, I was a Classroom Assistant in a Pre-K classroom at the West Somerville Neighborhood school. In addition, different research experiences I have had within my majors have led me to working with children in different capacities--such as during data collection trips! I am very comfortable with children of all ages! My babysitting experiences have always been rewarding, and I look forward to hearing from you! - Elise
