I have had a passion for working with children all my life. I began babysitting when i was ten and continue to babysit currently. I have worked professionally with children of all age groups and abilities. I have worked as an assistant preschool teacher as well as an assisant teacher in a daycare for infants. I was EEC certified from doing both of these jobs. I have also worked in a school as an assistant for grades K-5. I have nannyed while completing my college degree as well with children of various age groups in private homes. My first job out of college was at a nonprofit afterschool/ summer program as school aged staff that works with girls ages 5 through 12. I was responsible for planning all day to day activites for the girls. We also had special programming implemented within in our own program specific to teaching the girls Read more how to better themselves and be career minded. I was promoted to becoming a outreach coordinator and began implementing the programming into various schools in the area I worked. I plan on getting my masters as a teacher of special education . I am also both First Aid and CPR certified. Currently, I hold a position at a non-profit day program for adults with disabilities. We serve adults after they transition out of their high school programs. We serve a variety of disabilities. We provide supplemental groups for our participants in the morning and afternoon, and take our participants in the community daily to do various activities and volunteer work. We implement goals for each of our participants to continue their learning and growth process to become more independent in their lives.
