Hello moms and dads! I know there are a ton of nannies, and sitters out there, so how can I make myself stand out? I have over 15 years' experience caring for infants and toddlers, am updated on CPR and First Aid and I am an OCCS-certified teacher for ages newborn to pre-K. I also have great references - lots of them. I not only take care of your children, I teach them; think of it as daycare at home. Everything we do during the day is fun, age appropriate, and does not involve TV. My teaching technique is hands-on, and I enjoy engaging your child in age-appropriate activities that will help with cognitive & motor-skills development like music, reading, singing, dancing and art. I also feel that outdoor activities are important! I will make an effort every day to make sure we get out 1 to 2 times a Read more day (weather permitting). I will start a personal journal for your little one with notes about our day, development and goals, feeding, changing, naps, photos, artwork, etc. I am a firm believer in communication. We are a team and all play an important role in your child's development! I will set aside time at the beginning or end of the day to discuss questions and concerns if any, or I can make a communication log to write back and forth if needed. I'm laid-back and easygoing and am a quick learner. I don't mind light housekeeping or small odd jobs (such as dry cleaning drop off, mailing a letter, etc.). I can prep and cook small meals for your children. I have experience with multiples and preemies (my son was a preemie, 25 weeks). I am willing to host or go to playgroups, museums, playgrounds, music, story hour, or any other activity you would like us to attend. I am well-versed in many of the local (and free) sing-a-long and story-time sessions. I am willing to work extra hours and weekends, and am comfortable caring for sick children, and am comfortable with pets. I am a non smoker. I have a clean record. There are a few things that you should know about me. I do not have a driver's license, but I am T-accessible and my husband can drive me when needed. I am a mother of a 6 year-old little boy.
